1.What these technologies are
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by a website. We also use technologies that work in a similar way: pixels and web beacons (tiny images that report whether a page or email was opened), local storage (data your browser keeps for a site), and software development kits inside third-party features. In this policy, "cookies" covers all of them.
A first-party cookie is set by us. A third-party cookie is set by another company, such as an analytics or advertising provider, when their code runs on our pages. A session cookie disappears when you close your browser; a persistent cookie stays until it expires or you delete it.
2.Categories of cookies
| Category | What it does | Can you turn it off? |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Signs you in, keeps your session and shopping bag, routes traffic, balances load, prevents fraud, and remembers your privacy choices | No. The site cannot function without these. |
| Functional | Remembers preferences such as region, recently viewed items, and interface settings | Yes, through your browser settings |
| Analytics and performance | Tells us which pages are used, where errors occur, and how well features perform, so we can improve them | Yes |
| Advertising and measurement | Measures campaigns and allows relevant advertising on other sites and apps based on your activity here | Yes. See Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information. |
Today, the cookies set on our site come from our commerce platform, Shopify, which provides the storefront, shopping bag, and checkout, and are strictly necessary or functional. If we add analytics or advertising technologies, we will list them here and update this policy before they run.
3.How long cookies last
Session cookies expire when you close your browser. Persistent cookies used for preferences and analytics generally expire within 13 months. Advertising cookies generally expire within 13 months and may be refreshed if you return. You can delete any cookie at any time through your browser.
4.How to control cookies
Opt-out preference signals
We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC). When your browser sends it, we treat it as an opt-out of advertising cookies and of the "sale" or "sharing" of your personal information for that browser.
Browser settings
Every major browser lets you see, block, and delete cookies, and offers a private browsing mode. Blocking all cookies will break sign-in and checkout. Look for "Cookies and site data" in your browser's privacy settings.
Mobile devices
iOS and Android let you reset your advertising identifier and limit ad tracking in the privacy section of your device settings.
Industry opt-out tools
These tools set an opt-out cookie in the browser you use them in. If you clear your cookies, you will need to set them again.
Email pixels
Marketing emails may contain a pixel that tells us whether the message was opened. Setting your email client to block remote images prevents it, and you can unsubscribe from marketing email at any time.
5.Do Not Track
Browsers may send a "Do Not Track" signal. There is still no common industry standard for how to interpret it, so we do not respond to DNT signals. We do respond to the Global Privacy Control, which does have an agreed meaning and legal effect.
6.More information
What we do with the information collected through these technologies is described in the Privacy Policy. Questions can go to camilla@alistarchive.com.
